An existing LAN of Linux, Mac OS/OS X, Windows client and server machines, Network storage appliances, Cisco Routers/Switches/Firewalls and Android based mobile devices will be used to explore:
The technologies associated with monitoring and managing critical IT infrastructure elements.
Script language programming as a means to automate system and network administration tasks.
Routing, switching, firewall and virtual LAN schemes, concepts and strategies.
Video conferencing and remote management technologies.
Installation and configuration of database, email and web services.
Redundancy, failover and disaster recovery schemes.
This course will be conducted with a combination of lectures and applied labs that will best allow the student to gain knowledge and experience in an advanced computer networking environment.
